September 11, 2012 – Issaquah.  Halloween zombies of all ages will congregate for the third annual Downtown Zombie Walk and flash-mob dance to Michael Jackson’s, THRILLER! on October 27, 2011 at 5 p.m. at the Issaquah Library.   The choreographed flash-mob dance of the un-dead at the corner ofFront Street and Sunset Way will be lead by Miki Halvorson, of Blue Dog Dance Studio for the DIA.

The zombie “hoard” of un-dead will meet at the historic Shell Station at starting at 2:30 p.m. for make-up and other preparations.  Illusions by Melanie will be on site to help with make up.  Melanie is a certified, trained professional in all aspects of makeup, airbrushing, period, and hair design for TV, film, video, print, and fashion.

From 2:30-4:30, you can also practice your Thriller Dance steps.   Free lessons are being offered at the following locations.  Blue Dog Dance Studio – 12642 164th     Ave SE,Renton – Fridays at 7pm Oct 12, 19 & 26 and at  Blakely Hall –2550 NE Park   Drive – Sundays Sept 9-Ocober 21 –.  Classes are available on a drop-in basis.

The official Zombie Walk starts at 4:30 p.m. The zombies devote a half hour attracting the attention of motorists and passers-by onFront Street before doing their flash mob dance. The event is free, open to all ages and zombie skill levels. “The Issaquah Zombie Walk started as a fun thing with friends and neighbors and grew in popularity,” said Tom Gotuzzo, event founder and DIA board member. “Zombies are slow, they moan and groan but they don’t grab or bite. We come in all sizes and many of them are small children,” he said. “We’re starting the ‘walk’ while it’s still light because the cars in traffic went wild honking at us last year and the kids loved it.”

After the 5:00 dance is concluded Zombies will disperse looking for dinner and drinks in local restaurants.  Several pubs are offering Zombie Drink specials.
